1. The promise of the Father to His
people in despair;
There would come a Savior in answer
to their prayers.
Through poet bards and prophets,
down from His throne above;
The word of hope was given, bound
up in cords of love.
Chorus: Look up! Look up! A star
is shining,
There in the eastern sky.
Look up! Look up! A star is shining,
For all the world to see.
2. Through tests of time they labored
with hope to drive them on;
Still clinging to the promise, the
special Child would come.
When time had reached its fulness,
God sent His only Son;
Wrapped up in grace and mercy, He
was the promised One!
3. The wise men in their musings
were first to see the star;
Such men who seek the Savior would
travel very far.
It led them to Judea, the town of
Bethlehem;
There they would find the Baby,
the King, the Great I AM.
